Berså was manufactured by Gustavsberg in between 1960 and 1974 and became one of Stig Lindberg's greatest and most well spread successes.
The modern pattern with it's stylized green leaves made the service rise quickly in popularity when launched in 1960.
The sales where however slightly faded when it was shown that the ceramic glaze badly sustained dishwashing. Today, there are many bleached pieces of the Berså porcelain that could not withstand to be washed in a dishwasher.
The service was manufactured in large numbers and can still be found among retailers. The state of the porcelain however varies. Collectors are known to pay large amounts for parts of the service in good shape.
I have a set of the Bersa with not all being in perfect condition as some of the plates have faded with use. I have 4 dinner plates (faded), 4 sandwich plates (faded), 6 tea cups, 8 saucers. There are also 4/5 bowls. There are 3or 4 dishes with the wooden covers - going from large to small as they fit nicely inside each for stacking. There are 8 little cups (no handles) and am not sure what they are called or used for. Could use some help there. There is also a rectangular dish with a cover and another larger rectangular tray/dish. I believe there is also a creamer and sugar bowl.
I found a couple items on e-bay and was quite amazed at the bidding on some of these pieces. One appeared to be a coffee cup and had a mended handle and the bidding was still impressive.
As I just found that these could be worth some decent money, is there any way you could steer me to what I should be asking for these pieces.
Thanks in advance should someone either be interested or willing to help me with what some of these pieces are called and what they are worth.
